The challenge

The housing problem in the Netherlands of international or exchange students struggle to find a place to live. This problem has kept growing to the level that some exchange students have returned back home after quitting their exchange program. Evidently it is becoming a social conflict that is stopping students from pursuing their studies.

The solution

Solutions: -1. Focusing in making the housing industry more trustable, finding more control over the scammers. -2. Reducing the equality gap between international and dutch students in the student housing industry. -3. Coach Surfing- Renting sofas to students in need. 4. Students can communicate between each other through the chats of the platform. How? 1,3. Requirement of uploading an enrollment certificate and a student card scan to make use of the app. Either to rent a place or to rent a sofa for another students. This increases the credibility of the platform. Additionally, we will do a background check of the legal documents of the listed properties in the platform. 2. We will partner up with RADAR(An organization that is committed to combat discrimination). 4. To improve the communication between students within the platform you will be able to chat with students that you have similarities in terms of preferences.
