Salvare's name comes from the Latin word for Salvage - Salvare's idea comes from the complete disgust at the amount of perfectly reusable plastic that gets thrown away or "recycled" each day. Refilling personal care products and detergents doesn't need to be only for hippies, messy, a lot of effort or for sub-par products - it amazes us that it's not already a thing by major brands and retailers! Salvare wants to solve these problems before it's too late for the world.
Salvare's goal is to reduce plastic waste by offering a refill service for personal care and household products such as shampoo, conditioner and liquid detergent! The products are dispensed through a smart internet-connected (IoT) machines and customers pay per ml dispensed. The machines will require a clever hardware design in order to be easy to clean and to not introduce any unwanted waste themselves. Data from the machines will be analysed to maximise sales and minimise restocking while still keeping products in stock to keep customers happy. The goal is to get Salvare's machines into major retailers such as Albert Heijn and Jumbo and to stock popular brands offered by Unilever and Beiersdorf for maximum impact.
